My name is Sebastian Jönestig, I'm a Level/Game Designer from Sweden currently studying game design at Playgroundsquad.
I'm very passionate about level design. I love thinking about situations I can put the player in, what actions they can use in it and how I can guide the player through it using different techniques. I love talking about level design techniques, it is a favorite topic when discussing level design.
I have a soft spot for anything mecha-related, being a huge fan of Gundam and games like Armored Core. I play a lot of different games from a lot of different genres but I tend to be more attracted by games with a lot of action.
Who am I in the office?
I'm a hard worker from start to finish, close and far from deadlines.
I'm very social, I really enjoy giving feedback as well as receiving feedback. Feedback is a important part of my work and it helps me understand the greater picture.
I love helping and teaching people, I love sharing what I know with others.
I want to learn as much as possible. I am experimental, I try to follow my own steps to what I want to create.
I really like working on personal projects on the side, it always excites me knowing that what I have learned can be used for my own projects.
Group chemistry is really important for me, I always strive to keep a good and fun work environment for everyone.

Favorite Level Design in Games
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
I will never get the same experience like playing Breath of the Wild for the first time. The shrines were nice but what really amazed me was Hyrule, the game world and how it encouraged exploration to the fullest. Every landmark encouraged curiosity, I always thought to myself "Ooo, what is that?".
Every aspect of the game collides in a really good way too, both narrative and world design. You can see how the events of the game has impacted the world and the inhabitants. As you progress in the game, you also get to experience how the world was in the past before the current events of the game which made me really captivated in the story and characters.
Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes
MGS V: Ground Zeroes is a great opening and demo of what comes thereafter, Metal Gear Solid V: Phantom Pain. What's special is not really the level design itself, but how they use it. The important thing in this game is the first mission, which is the prologue for Phantom Pain. The game after the first mission then features 6 side-missions within the same level but puts the player in different situations with different objectives. What I love about this is how they do it and still make the experience in the same level feel fresh.
